This tea is kind of unique. It is what is called "fannings" which is the smaller bits left after the whole leaf tea is separated.
Why use fannings you ask? Isn't that just tea "dust"? Well, it is actually really great for quick brew tea ... sort of an "instant" tea.
Also, this area of south India has a microclimate that creates black tea that doesn't get cloudy when you make iced tea, so this particular tea is perfect for creating iced tea.
Note also if you want to create your own tea bags using empty tea bags or reusable cloth tea bags, this tea is ideally sized for this purpose.
